Sassafrass
Grey and white paint welsh pony mare, measures at 12.1 hands. She is
fancy with nice conformation and is an excellent mover. She is trained for
english and jumping and she has excellent ground manners. Ties, loads,
bathes, etc. Sound, healthy and an easy keeper. Eligable for her pony card and
can be registered as a Sport Pony.
So here is why she is so cheap..... I rode her at the sale, she did absolutley
everything I asked of her- even while being rode in the parking lot! W/T/C on
command, had a nice stop and was easy to steer around. We set up a jump
and she did it like a pro, I was excited....she definetly knew her business and
did it well! So I bought her, brought her home and gave her a few days to
settle in. Pulled her out of the pasture to start riding her, she was perfect about
grooming & cross tying and took her tack quietly and willingly. So I took her out
to the arena, I went to step on her and she went bouncing sideways...hmmmm.
I know she came off a summer camp string- so maybe she's a bit sick of a full
days use??? Tried again- same deal- every time you want to get on, she
blows sideways. I really don't want to "cowboy" this mare because I KNOW
she is well trained. She needs to have a refresher course and have a little more
consistancy than I am able to commit to at this time (I'm real heavy into show
season right now). She rode like a $2000 show pony at the sale- so I know
she can do it!! She just needs the kinks worked out!
Sassafrass is a GREAT re- sale project or a show pony for someone that has
a trainer and is not looking to spend a lot of money.
