Just wanted to give you updates on my two beautiful Babies.
Annabelle has completely recovered from her "issue" ( dont really know what to call it because the vet didnt even
know what was wrong with her) I was very worried about her because she was begining to loose alot of weight after
she seemed to be getting better. But like a good ol' stubburn Appaloosa, shes got all her weight back and being as
lazy as ever. My dad and I ride her but shes more of a companion then anything really. Like a big dog! Haha, I
supoose she only has light riding just because shes my baby and shes very spoiled. But my dad has recently showed
intrest in wanting to hook her up to a carrige. I think hes nuts and will refuse him to actually do it. But its a funny idea
if you think about it. Her pulling a little carrige doing her fancy parade trot she does so she doesnt trip on anything.
Her and contessa are now best friends. And sometimes i think though annabelles blind shes the big bully hahaha
shes a hog so she eats her grain fast and then tries to gobble down contessas. If you took a look at her now you'd be
shocked. Shes starting to look like a big draft horse shes gaining muscle ( cough cough fat) But hey this is her
forever home so she doesnt have to work for a thing. The only problem she has now is her seperation anxiety when i
take contessa out for rides. She gets so worried. She is now completely blind im almost sure of it. I dont think she
sees shadows out of that one eye anymore. It was hard for her at first it was quite obvious she was loosing all sight.
But shes adapted completely now, So her eye surgery is gonna be coming soon.
There both such good horses, they stay right in the yard. We didnt even need a fence up this summer. Dont worry
they were only out of the pasture when i was home so i could keep an eye on there little butts.
Contessa is holding what weight she has well. We are giving her weight gain with her grain twice a day, and all the
hay she can eat. Though shes a brat and prefers the nice green grass over the hay. But iv found shes a pig when it
comes to pancakes. Annabelles hate em And i thought contessa was the picky one. Shes still as fast as ever. And
fallows me around like a big dog jsut like annabelle. Sometimes i think she does stuff on purpose like run in the barn
then run out so annabelles in there wondering were she went. Or walking right by a tree so annabelle runs into the
branchs. Or trips over stuff. For a while during the summer she was the biggest brat didnt wanna do a damn thing
and when i made her ride she acted like a spoiled brat. But i corrected that and now that she gets grain very night
shes a little mroe willing to Do what i say. Theres this one time i left the lead rope in the house and we both walked
right in so i could get it. I attached that picture of her :P They wait at the back door and i mean actually wait at my
back door for there grain peaking in the window. SIlly girls. My old girl i think might be getting ready to retire and be a
forever companion for my annabelle she deserves to be lazy and not have to work. and shes starting to get sore after
trail rides. So i think its in her best intrest.
Im really getting into barrel racing so im begining to look for a younger horse trained for barrels Hoping to find one by
the start of spring end of winter. Im hoping thise summer to go to the state fair and parish and savanah for game
shows. Barrel racing gives me a feeling that nothing else comes close to the adrenaline is amazing and it makes me
feel like im on top of the world. Its the funnest sport iv come by. I know contessa would be good at it but i just dont
want to push her like that. Shows every weekend. I think would be to much riding for her.
But hey if you can come by a good barrel horse at a resonable price let me know first! Looking for that typical barrel
horse. :)
