Beautiful Registered Belgian Mare, 17yr, measured at 17 hands. Goldie is in foal to
Sawhorse Farm Tiger (Belgian Stallion), and due in March 2009. Aside from the fact that
she needs to gain some weight- she is sound and healthy. She is eating good, enjoying
her box stall and packing on the pounds....each day she looks better and better, as she
gets closer to foaling time!
She is very gentle and quiet to be around, loves to be groomed, and has great ground
manners. Goldie is reluctant to pick up her feet but if you keep trying she will give in (she
is probably used to being trimmed in stocks). She has been a broodmare for the past few
years, so she will need a little refresher if you have plans to ride her. Because she is so
heavy in foal we did not want to saddle her up and push her. I jumped on bareback and
took her for a slow stroll around the indoor arena. She accepts a rider with no issues,
and she steers and stops fine with just the halter and rope. That is as far as I will go
analyzing her previous training- I don't want to stress her out. If we still have her a few
months after the foal is born- then I will put her to work to see what she "really knows",
but right now she will be sold 'as is' regarding her training. With her sensible, kind and
gentle personality she should be a breeze regardless of what she knows!

UPDATE: Goldie had her foal on 3/26/09 at 11:45pm. She had a beautiful blonde filly, both
are doing extremely well, very strong and healthy! Its no wonder the poor girl was so big, the
filly is enormous! Look at the perfect 5 point star on the foals head along with the small stripe
that goes to her muzzle, it reminds me of Tinkerbell's magic wand! She is absolutley
adorable and Goldie is a wonderful mother. What a beautiful pair of horses!
